Here we are Feeding Texas by writing poems.
Many thanks to Editor, Laurence Musgrove, for choosing my poem, some nameless god, for the Dec. 7th issue of the TPA Quarterly. As I will, one day at a time and by the grace of god, celebrate forty-six years of sobriety on Jan. 23, 2026, the timing of this poem’s publication is especially meaningful to me.
I am honored to be in the company of many other fine Texas poets here in response to the prompt, “Texas Jesus.”
Here, there is strong political resistance by Jim LaVilla Havelin, reference to parables and praise for Mesquite trees by Sister Lou Ella Hickman, and a contemplative look at what real seeing reveals by Chris Ellory, alongside many other rich and relevant musings by fine writers.
Also, during this holiday season and as you enjoy the abundance of rich food on your table please consider giving what feels right to hunger relief.
Namaste,
d

That was deeply moving, d! 🙏💖
Thank you, Stephanie. For reading. And for getting it. 🙏🏻
