Writer’s Idea Box: day-tripping

Today’s writing exercise gets you up and going! I mean, it’s fine to write from your writing studio or from your living room couch. But, there’s nothing like a day-trip to wake up the muse!

Truly, my muse often speaks to me when I am driving. Really? Yes. So I have a recording app on my phone, Voice Record Pro, that I use when She, the Muse, insists that I take notes while I’m driving (Please be safe if you do this and take the time to pull over to activate the app). Then, I come back and, from the comfort of my easy chair, which is now my “writing desk,” I input the recorded words, revising as I go.

Admittedly, one of the writing samples on today’s syllabus was written from my easy chair, but, to be fair, that’s the exercise. You’ll get what I mean when you engage with the syllabus. I promise.

I look forward to reading what you write! Consider subscribing to get writing prompts and other publication notices in you inbox.

Ciao!
