winter solstice

blessed be the darkness hovering
under this black moon

let demons wake
let chaos come
let chaos come

into the womb

of these wee hours
—the reckoning ones

when thoughts devour
& life itself is a candle spent:

lit
burnt
dissolving

that turns the heavy scent of what has been
into the hint of what’s to come

—a faint perfume
—the rising sun

and then shall we rejoice and sing

the dawn has come
the dawn has come

~

May the Light returning bless you, Dear Reader, with hope and joy.

Namaste,

d
