Writer’s Idea Box: Winter Rhymes

I keep telling myself, “It’s February. It’s February.” I have to do this because today, here in South Texas, it’s eighty-five degrees. Yep. That’s crazy! And, a week or so ago, the winter storm “Fern” brought us SNOW! And ICE! About a quarter of an inch and the whole state shut down. Wow. Talk about climate extremes.

So, even though today feels like a balmy summer day, I thought a winter prompt would still work. After all, there will most likely be at least one more winter storm here in the coming weeks. And I’m sure some of you reading this are covered up in snow and ice and will be for the foreseeable future.

So, get your wool socks, a soft, warm blanket, a cup of Joe, your journal and a pen and settle in front of a cozy fire then take your respite in some winter rhymes. Or, as always, feel free to use the prompts to lead you into writing a bit of creative non-ficiton or even fiction if that’s your jam! The act of writing will surely warm you through and through.
