It can be of great value to have an experienced editor read a work-in-progress and give you feedback. I have read thousands of poems under submission to fws: journal of literature and art and to the other many anthologies for which I have been privileged to serve as editor. I have learned a bit along the way about what makes poems tick and how to give a writer soft feedback that helps. I would be happy to serve you in this way.

My fee for this service is $45 per hour with a two-hour minimum. The two hours include close reading of up to six poems with written commentary and a half-hour conversation by phone to discuss my comments and to give you a chance to ask questions.

If this idea appeals to you, contact me here to ask questions or save your spot below by purchasing two hours of close reading. Once I receive your payment, we’ll get you on my calendar right away. I’ll ask you to send me your poems via email at that time.

I look forward to working with you!
